Vicksburg native Mary Margaret Halford has joined the news staff of The Vicksburg Post.

A graduate of St. Aloysius High School, Halford is a sophomore at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she is majoring in public relations with minors in Spanish and nonprofit studies.

The daughter of James and Mary Halford of Vicksburg, she is a Luckyday scholar and a member of the campus newspaper, The Student Printz. She also has participated in Lighting the Way, an annual charity event in Hattiesburg.
