Batesville Casket’s in Vicksburg has been named a Top 10 manufacturing facility in IndustryWeek’s 2010 Best Plants competition.

It is the U.S. 61 South plant’s second time since 2007 to win the honor. Facilities are judged on quality and productivity, management tools and strategies and other criteria.

Representatives from IndustryWeek also visited the plant.

The Vicksburg facility prepares wood products for caskets and cremation products that are produced at other Batesville operations. The Vicksburg plant is managed by Russell E. Johnson.
