A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail Saturday night after an early morning car chase, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Michael Levon Parker, 26, 40 Ironwood Drive, was arrested at 12:18 a.m. near his home after leading Warren County sheriff’s deputies in an eight-mile chase that started at a safety checkpoint at Paxton Road and ended on Ironwood. Deputies used a tire-deflation device to stop the car, Pace said, and Parker fled on foot before being caught.

Parker is charged with felony eluding law enforcement officers and misdemeanor drug possession. He was being held without bond.
