Warren County Board of Supervisors agenda items

In their meeting Monday, members of the Warren County Port Commission:

• Delayed appointments to the Vicksburg Bridge Commission and Vicksburg Tallulah Regional Airport until after the new year.

Vacancies were created on each by resignations announced in November of bridge commissioner Ray “T-Bone” Wade and airport advisory board member Dan Fordice.

Wade was the District 3 appointee to the panel that oversees daily operations of the U.S. 80 bridge over the Mississippi River. Fordice was the county’s appointee to the oversight panel for the Mound airport owned by the City of Vicksburg, Warren County, the City of Tallulah and Madison Parish. Supervisors must name two people to the VTR board, one to fill the county’s exclusive appointed post and another to fill a “swing” seat that alternates between the county and the parish every three years.

• Accepted for information a request from Warren County Land Company and Warren County Land Company II LLC that part of Old River Road that bisects the two firms adjacent tracts of land on Kings Point Island be abandoned.

• Accepted the District Attorney’s Office report of fines for June through October.

For the period, the office assessed $838,506.23 in fines and collected $325,293.20, victim assistance coordinator Brenda Theriot said.

• Took four bids for rip rap and other types of stone under advisement.

• Authorized a $42,365 check to the Mississippi Public Entity Employee Benefit Trust Plan for workers compensation premium.

• Approved a preliminary plat and a variance request for Tibbs Lane, off U.S. 61 North.
