Rodney Mark Erickson

Rodney (Rod) Mark Erickson, was born May 21, 1958, and went to be with the Lord Jan. 1, 2011.
He was born in British Columbia, Canada, and lived across the United States during his lifetime. Rod served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years, specializing as a navigational aids equipment technician and a missile facilities specialist, and serving in honor guards. Rod loved music of all kinds, and he sang in numerous choruses, including the San Diego Symphonic Chorus, and Barbershop Choruses in Springfield, Mo., Baton Rouge, and Jackson, Miss.
Mr. Erickson was preceded to Glory by his mother, Louis Tousley Scarbrough of San Diego.
Rod is survived by his wife, Sonya Johnston Erickson of Vicksburg; two sons, Victor Erickson and Ben Erickson of Alpena, Mich.; three daughters, Lurena Erickson of Burlington, Colo., Tiffany Huber and husband Daniel Huber of Mobile, and Theresa Kleinman and husband Alan Kleinman, and one granddaughter, Michelle Kleinman, all of Vicksburg; two spiritual daughters, Teresa Irby-Butler of Winchester, Va., and Amber Hobbs, and one spiritual granddaughter, Jennifer Hobbs of Batesville, Miss.; and one spiritual son, Tony Cecerre of Batesville. He is also survived by brothers, Steve Scarbrough of Bertha, Minn., Phil Scarbrough of La Mesa, Calif., Kevin Scarbrough of Arlington, Wash., Ken Scarbrough of Cloquet, Minn., and Ron Erickson of Greenwell Springs, La.; sisters, Linda Schimitz and Susan Murdock of San Diego; and parents, Harvey and Mila Erickson of Bertha, and Mark and Julia Scarbrough of Iowa Park, Texas.
Rod selflessly loved those around him, and he will be greatly missed.
Rod was a member of Gibson Memorial United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at this church on today, Jan. 4, 2011, at 4 p.m.
