The Vicksburg Convention Center and Auditorium is “All Shook Up” — literally — for a show organizers are calling “major-league entertainment.”
The Broadway comedy-love story featuring about two dozen hip-shaking tunes by Elvis Presley, the king of rock ‘n’ roll, will hit the Vickburg Auditorium stage at 8 p.m. Jan. 21. The VCC has been promoting the show with doo-wop style events, and one of those, a Sock Hop, is set for 4 p.m. Saturday at the auditorium. Admission is free for those dressed in 1950s duds, and $5 for others.
“We hope everyone comes out and gets in the mood for ‘All Shook Up,’” said Erin Powell, VCC’s marketing manager.
A drive-in style showing of the 1978 classic “Grease,” starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta, was last weekend at the convention center.
