Vicksburg hit nine 3-pointers — seven of them in the first half — and never trailed in a rout of Pearl (11-9).

Willie Gibbs hit five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points, while Dominique Brown hit three and scored 11 points. Mychal Ammons also had 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists for Vicksburg (16-3), and Josh Gaskins totaled 10 points and 12 rebounds.

D.J. Thompson and Twymond Howard led Pearl with 13 points apiece.

Gibbs got the Gators rolling early. He hit a pair of 3-pointers in a span of three possessions midway through the first quarter to give VHS a double-digit lead it never relinquished. Brown later hit two treys on back-to-back possessions to make it 30-12 with 3:44 left in the second quarter. Pearl never recovered.
