Mr. and Mrs. David Lee Chaney Sr. of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Kay, to Samuel Ray Berryhill of Roy, Utah. Mr. Berryhill is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hughey Dennis Berryhill of Port Gibson.

Miss Chaney is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark James Chaney Sr. of Vicksburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Kingrey from Kinder, La.

Mr. Berryhill is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Berryhill of Learned.

The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Warren Central High School. She received a full voice scholarship to Mississippi Delta Community College before transferring to Mississippi State University, where she studied elementary education.

Miss Chaney is an academic interventionist at Grove Street Alternative School.

The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Mississippi State University.

Mr. Berryhill is a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. April 2, 2011, at the home of the bride’s parents. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
