Vicksburg eats on display at state welcome center

Local food is being highlighted at the Mississippi Welcome Center in Vicksburg as part of a statewide tourism effort.

Until Jan. 31, displays and samples will be offered locally. The tourism push will be available all year at visitors centers statewide.

In Vicksburg, Tommy Hughs of the Tomato Place, chef Mike of Rocky’s at Riverwalk Casino and the “Ambrosia” and “Vintage Vicksburg” cookbooks will be featured.

The effort is sponsored by the tourism division of the Mississippi Development Authority.
