City native tapped to run Yazoo library

Vicksburg native Cynthia Welch has been appointed director of the Ricks Memorial Library in Yazoo City.

She is the daughter of Dr. Charles and Terry Welch and graduated from St. Aloysius High School in 1989.

Welch received a degree in animal and dairy science from Mississippi State University and a master’s degree in library and information from the University of Alabama.
