Catherine Brown Harrison died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 63.

Mrs. Harrison had worked at Waterways Experiment Station for 14 years. She was a member of Greater Grove Street M.B. Church, where she served on the Mother Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Jones and Ernestine Helen Foster-Brown; a brother, William Foster; and two sisters, Gloriastine Brown and Rosemary Brown Winfield.

She is survived by her husband, Luther Harrison Jr. of Vicksburg; a son, Andrew Brown of Deltona, Fla.; five daughters, Sylvia Brown, Pamela Brown and Earnessa Harrison, all of Vicksburg, and Donna Brown-Wynn and Sharon Nicole Brown, both of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, retired Gen. John Mitchell Brown of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a sister, Alice Moore of Detroit; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and others.

Services were set for noon today at Vicksburg Auditorium with the Rev. Casey Fisher officiating. Burial, with W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge, will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
