Both the St. Aloysius boys and girls will get one more shot at their archrivals from Cathedral when the Division 7-1A Tournament tips off tonight at the Mississippi School for the Deaf in Jackson.

For St. Al senior Sara Howington, the meeting with Cathedral represents a chance to not only even the season series with the Green Wave, but also solidify the progress the Lady Flashes have made.

“We’ve made a lot of improvement this season,” said Howington, who averages 10 points and 8 rebounds per game. “We handle things better and we’ve become a much better team. We’ve been able to play together well.”

The Lady Flashes enter the tournament with six wins, the same as last year, but they’ve been competitive against all but top seed Bogue Chitto. The Lady Bobcats are the top seed at 25-1 and beat St. Al handily on Saturday afternoon, 66-33.
