High school students will go head to head Saturday in a game of African-American history trivia to celebrate Black History Month.

Spearheaded by the I Can Foundation, a local nonprofit organization aimed at helping troubled youths, the inaugural African-American Quiz Bowl will be at the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“The idea is to get kids and the community to learn about African-American history,” said Walter Beamon, director of the I Can Foundation and a retired lieutenant of the Vicksburg Police Department. “It’s not just open to African-American students, but to all students.”
