History shared

On behalf of the Beulah Cemetery Restoration Committee, we are very thankful to our sponsor, Linda Fondren, owner of Shape Up Sisters, and the community members who participated in the black history walk through the Vicksburg National Military Park to the beautiful historic Beulah Cemetery.

We appreciate Linnie Wheeless of Shape Up Sisters for the creation of the Beulah Cemetery brochure. The flowers from Oscar Osborne were wonderful. Thank you to Mike Madell, superintendent of the VNMP, and his staff for providing historical venues along the way with James McNair depicting the U.S. Colored Infantry Troops.

Let us remember our shared history, our shared community and our shared health. Our heritage of Beulah Cemetery is about a people against all odds who survived and who contributed to what we call Vicksburg today.
