Dr. and Mrs. Jesse Raymond Thomas of Sherman, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Marianne of Dallas, to Austin Douglas Jones, also of Dallas. Mr. Jones is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Paul Jones of Vicksburg.

Miss Thomas is the granddaughter of Anna Marie Black of LaMarque, Texas, and the late Ernest Howard Black and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Raymond Thomas Jr.

Mr. Jones is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Hannaford of Vardaman and Martha A. Jones and the late Rev. David R. Jones of Watervliet, N.Y.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Trinity Christian Academy. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2009 from Texas Christian University. She was a member of the Student Nursing Association and Alpha Chi Omega, serving as vice president-risk management.

Miss Thomas is a registered nurse at Medical City Dallas Hospital Neuro ICU.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he played varsity football and was a member of the Key Club. He received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture in 2008 from Mississippi State University, where he was a member of the American Society of Landscape Architecture and served as membership chairman for Sigma Lambda landscape architecture honor society.

Mr. Jones is a loan counselor for Litton Loan Services in Dallas.

Vows will be exchanged at 4 p.m. May 7, 2011, at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. A reception will follow at the Museum of Biblical Arts.
