Services for Edna Marie Napolion Garrett, a resident of Los Angeles, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church with evangelist Florencetta Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home from 2 until 6 p.m. Friday and at the church from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday.

Mrs. Garrett died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 56.

She graduated from South Vicksburg High School in 1972 and from Clark-Atlanta University. She was a veteran of the Army and retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Los Angeles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Lucille Woods Napolion; and three brothers, George Woods, Robert Woods and Willie Woods.

Survivors include one son, Amir Garrett of Los Angeles; one daughter, Nigel Napolion of Los Angeles; two brothers, Elijah Napolion Jr. of Chicago and Joseph Napolion of Jacksonville, Fla.; six sisters, Mamie Smith and Leanna Winston, both of Fayetteville, N.C., Alice Gross of Atlanta, Mary Jones of Chicago, Betty Roseboro of Vicksburg and Margarett Davis of Mount Vernon, N.Y.; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Albert Burns and Galeda Burns of Chicago.
