Jimmy and Ida Waring celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 27. They were married Jan. 27, 1951, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church by Bishop Marvin Franklin, who was assisted by the bride’s father, the Rev. Thomas O. Prewitt.

The Warings were honored with a family dinner at Roca by their children: Larry and Nancy Waring of Florence, S.C.; Sally and John Owen of Vicksburg; Tom and Edie Waring of Columbia, S.C.; Betsy and Michael Harbaugh of Vicksburg; and Andy and Kathy Waring of Jackson. They also have 13 grandchildren.
