Rain drops collect Monday on petals of some of the tulips Bobbie Nasif plants annually in her yard on Short Cherry Street. She generally plants about 1,400 to 1,500 bulbs in the terraced yard, but this year cut back to 500, she said. “I just plant until I drop! If I stop and think how much I’m spending, I wouldn’t do it.” Nasif also plants a variety of other blooming foliage. After Vicksburg received .17 of an inch of rain Monday, the National Weather Service was forecasting clear and sunny skies for the rest of the week.
