The Civil War Trust will observe its 15th annual Park Day April 2, with volunteers helping clean up important historical sites including the Vicksburg National Military Park.
Work at the VNMP will include trail clearing and painting the cannon display near the visitor center, said Virginia DuBowy, the park’s natural resources program manager. Volunteers are asked to meet by 8 a.m. in the parking lot of the visitor center.
The first 75 workers to arrive will receive T-shirts, and all volunteers will be provided lunch at noon at Tour Stop 12, she said.
