PATTISON — Bessie Lee Hannis died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 75.

Mrs. Hannis was a native of Jefferson County and had lived much of her life in Pattison. She retired from the Mississippi Forestry Commission and was a member of Unity Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Hannis; five sisters; and two brothers.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Turner of Brandon; a son, Tommy Hannis of Pattison; and one grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Unity Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Friday at the church from noon until the service.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hannis, Jimmy Hannis, Mike Greer, Pat Bearden, Avery Baker and Tommy Lutz.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Byrnes and Ric Turner.
