A Raymond woman was in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with DUI after sideswiping Sheriff Martin Pace’s patrol car, which he had stopped on the side of Culkin Road near Oak Ridge Road in a traffic stop.

Tara J. Riddle, 46, 1230 Wright Road, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended license and not having a license plate, Pace said this morning.

“I was in an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria, with blue emergency lights on,” Pace said. “I had just walked to the other side of the car to speak with the people I had pulled over, when a 2007 Lincoln scraped down the side of my patrol car, ripping off the side view mirror.”

Pace was able to get in his car and pulled Riddle over a few miles down the road at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Riddle was being held on a $2,250 bond.
