Azizie T. Jabour

Azizie T. Jabour died Friday, April 8, 2011, at Promise Hospital of Vicksburg. She was 93.
Born in Longview, Texas, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Maggie Mack Thomas. Mrs. Jabour attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Waco, Texas, and had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1941. She and her late husband, Mike Jabour, owned and operated The Hub clothing store in downtown Vicksburg for a number of years.
Active in many cultural and civic endeavors, Mrs. Jabour was a longtime member of The Salvation Army Board of Directors, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Longview, Texas, and was a surviving member of the Oyster Club, a local group of couples who met for years as a dinner club to enjoy oysters. She was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church and the Ladies of St. George and was one of the founders of the annual Lebanese Dinner.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Mayfield (Jerry Mayfield) of Vicksburg and Michele Farr (Dr. John Farr) of Cornwall-On-Hudson, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Becky Jabour of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Courtney Michele Mayfield of Shreveport, La., Taylor Jabour of Nashville, Tenn., Lauren Jabour Coulon of Vicksburg, Michael Farr and David Farr, both of Cornwall-On-Hudson; a sister, Alyce Monsour of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Wayne Jabour; and three brothers, Isaac Thomas, Naseep Thomas and Philip Thomas.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home with the Very Rev. John Morris, pastor of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church, officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home with Trisagion prayers at 7.
