Hall, Tilley to exchange vows July 9

The engagement of Kimberly La-Sheá Hall of Vicksburg to Jesse Julius Erving Tilley III of Harlem, N.Y., is announced today. The wedding will be at 3 p.m. July 9, 2011, at Rainbow Arena, 1380 Warrenton Road. A reception will follow. Attendance is by invitation only.
Miss Hall is the daughter of Mattie Hall of Vicksburg and the late Herman Morris of Chicago. She is the granddaughter of the late Roosevelt Watkins of Anguilla and the late Annie Bell Braxton.
Mr. Tilley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Julius Erving Tilley II of Harlem. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Julius Erving Tilley of Manhattan, N.Y.
The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a team peer helper and a member of the Student Council, Viking Voices and Total Sound.
She received an Associate of Arts degree in 2002 with a major in social work and a minor in music education from Hinds Community College. She was a dean’s scholar and member of Utica Campus Concert and Gospel Choir. She was named Miss Utica Connection 2001 and Miss AQPi and served as Student Government vice president.
She graduated summa cum laude in 2004 from Jackson State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in music education. She was a member of the Student Government Association, Social Work Student Association, Who’s Who Among Students in America’s Universities and Colleges, JSU Choir and Phi Alpha honor society.
Miss Hall is a children’s case manager for Warren-Yazoo Mental Health Services.
The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of the High School of Graphic Communication Arts, where he played varsity basketball.
Mr. Tilley is a deputy sheriff for the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
