Two Warren County juveniles were arrested Tuesday after video surveillance identified them as being involved in a Vicksburg Warren School District bus break-in Friday.

A 14-year-old and a 13-year-old were turned over to the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

The district’s bus barn area on Mississippi 27 was broken into around 11:30 a.m. during the Good Friday holiday, Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Duran Swinford confirmed Tuesday.

A bus was taken on what Pace called a “joyride” around the property. The bus was found stuck in the mud and reported by school officials Monday, he said.

The status of the teens was unavailable this morning, and it was unclear which teen drove the bus.

No damage to the bus was reported.
