The Mississippi Development Authority is planning two events.

The Mississippi Procurement Opportunities Conference and Trade Fair will be May 17-18 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi. Workshops will include Doing Business with State and Local Governments: A Multi-Billion Dollar Industry; Federal Acquisition Regulations-The Bible of Federal Procurement; and Subcontracting Opportunities with Major Defense Contractors Northrop Grumman, NASA and Lockheed Martin.

On Tuesday, Project Management and Field Operations: Focusing on Safety, a workshop for contractors and subcontractors, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at Strayer University in Jackson.

Topics will include new OSHA regulations, safety manuals and basic safety training.
