Main Street charrette meetings set

The public is invited next week to offer opinions on downtown in a meeting hosted by the Vicksburg Main Street Program.

The organization has contracted with the Mississippi Main Street Association to conduct a charrette, or “an intensive, design-oriented revitalization program,” to update its 30-year-old image.

“One of the major objectives of a branding initiative is to build community pride,” Vicksburg Main Street Executive Director Kim Hopkins said in a statement. “The branding initiative will give people an agreed upon set of images and phrases to promote downtown Vicksburg to tourists, potential investors and businesses.”
