Tyla Vega had been sought by Warren County officials since Monday when Michelle Vega’s 15-year-old son returned home from school and found her dead in the family home at 100 Jones Road in south Warren County.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey said Michelle Vega died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Neighbors said Tyla Vega had left the home minutes before in the family’s 2002 Dodge Durango, which was found Saturday in a parking lot in Greenville.

Pace said Warren County Detectives Stacy Rollison and Billy Joe Heggins were on their way Sunday night to pick up Tyla Vega and return her to the Warren County Jail.
