The engagement of Heather JaNelle Nutter of Vicksburg to Justin Dwayne Baxley of Edwards is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at sunset June 4, 2011, on the beach in Gulf Shores, Ala. A reception will follow.

Miss Nutter is the daughter of Marty and Laura Dement of Vicksburg and Patrick and Fon Nutter of Flora. She is the granddaughter of Archie and Sue Hayman of Raleigh; the late John W. Searcy, Thomas L. Nutter and the late JoNelle Nutter, all of Flora; and Shirley Rust and the late Cecil Dement, both of Vicksburg.

Mr. Baxley is the son of Bill and Julie Baxley of Edwards. He is the grandson of Red and Sally Hambright of Vicksburg, Monty Joe and Jeannie Baxley of Edwards and the late Deb and Bettie Jo Riley of Jackson.

The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a member of the National Technical Honor Society.

Miss Nutter is pursuing a degree in elementary education from Delta State University.

The prospective groom is a 2010 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of the National Technical Honor Society. He attends Hinds Community College, where he is on the dean’s list.

Mr. Baxley is employed at Ergon Trucking and will attend Delta State University in the fall.
