A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail today, charged with aggravated domestic assault, said Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart.

Anthony Buford, 39, 1001 Polk St., was arrested Wednesday about an hour after the 6 p.m. report. Buford is accused of hitting a woman and knocking her to the ground, Stewart said.

Buford was held without bond pending an initial court appearance Friday.

The woman was taken to River Region Medical Center and later transferred to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where she was in good condition, a hospital spokeswoman said today.
