Florence H. Williams

Mrs. Florence H. Williams died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 88.

Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert B. Hagan and Estelle Elizabeth Holman Hagan. Mrs. Williams was a devoted wife, loving mother and affectionate grandmother. She was a past member of the Dogwood Home Demonstration Club of Redwood and a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jane “Winkie” Mangum (Jim) of Nesbit and Pat A. Hartley (Kenneth “Odie”) of Vicksburg; a son, David C. Williams (Lyndale) of Ethel, La.; eight grandchildren, Chris Mangum, Perry Mangum, Pete Hartley, Davi Lynn Westcott, David Williams, Derek Williams, Jamie Williams and Cathy Williams; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Harmon of Baton Rouge.

She was predeceased by her husband, David Turner (D.T.) Williams; and a son, James “Jimmy” Williams.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home with Les Ferguson, Reggie Crawford and Donnie Cain officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Friday until the service.

Memorials may be made to the Sunnybrook Children’s Home, 222 Sunnybrook Road, Ridgeland, MS 39157.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Covenant Health and Rehab of Vicksburg and Gilbert’s Home Health for their love and care of Mrs. Williams.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
