Jo Ann Lucchesi

HUMBLE, Texas — Jo Ann Lucchesi, 76, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011.

Jo Ann was born in Hattiesburg, and grew up in Vicksburg where she graduated from Culkin Academy High School and went on to attend nursing training at Mercy Hospital. She was a full-time homemaker as well as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Jo Ann was a devoted Catholic who was a member of many parishes through the years. Those include, St. Joseph’s in Baytown, Texas, where she was a member of the Junior League and Catholic Daughters; St. Mary’s in Orange, Texas; Queen of the Holy Rosary in Overland Park, Kansas; and St. Philip the Apostle in Huffman, Texas, where she served in the Altar and Women’s Guild. For the past 16 years, Jo Ann has been a member at St. Raymond Catholic Mission in Sam Rayburn, Texas. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, music and opera performances. More than anything, Jo Ann loved spending time with her family and friends.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Sarah Alice Louis.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Lucchesi; children, Paula Ann Lucchesi, Vincent Joseph Lucchesi, Christopher Francis Lucchesi, Michael Edward Lucchesi, Stephen Anthony Lucchesi and Lisa Annette Griffin; grandchildren, Michael Christopher Lucchesi, Austin Leigh Lucchesi, Luke Anthony Lucchesi, Emily Ann Lucchesi, Giuliana Lucchesi, Ashton Taylor Griffin, Courtland Lawrence Griffin and Aiden Edward Griffin.

A Rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Kingwood Funeral Home, 22800 Highway 59 North, Kingwood, TX 77339. A funeral Mass was at noon today, May 20, 2011, at St. Raymond Catholic Mission, FM 1007, Sam Rayburn, TX 75931. Interment will follow at a later date in Vicksburg.
