An Edwards man and a Vicksburg man were in the Warren County Jail Friday night charged with receiving stolen property, said Sheriff Martin Pace.

Also, a 16-year-old Vicksburg boy was in the Juvenile Detention Center in connection with the same case, Pace said.

Jessie Lumpkin III, 18, 80 Dunigan Road, and Christopher Gray, 20, address unavailable, Edwards, were arrested Friday at 11:50 a.m. after deputy Sgt. Mike Marshall stopped a car matching the description of one seen near a recent house burglary, said the sheriff.

Items reported stolen were found in the gray Mercury Marquis, Pace said, and the discovery led to a search of one of the men’s homes where other stolen items were found.

Pace said the investigation into where and when the house burglaries were reported is ongoing. Some were in the past few days in an area of the county including Tiffintown Road, he said.

The men, who will have an initial bond hearing Monday, and the juvenile could face an upgrade of the charges to residential burglary, said Warren County Sheriff’s Office Detective Stacy Rollison.
