George Q. Sr. and Betty Lou Cain will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Wednesday. They were married May 25, 1946, in a home ceremony on Adams Street.

Mr. Cain served in the Army’s 33rd Engineer Battalion, 7th Armored Division, and served a tour of duty in Europe in World War II. He retired from Cedar Chemical Company in 1985. Mrs. Cain, a medical technologist, retired from Mercy Hospital in 1987. They are members of First Baptist Church.

The Cains have two children, George Jr. (Cindy) of Clinton and Susan Cain Stark (Bill) of Marion, Ala., and two grandchildren, Courtney Cain Skelton (Casey) of Starkville and Tripp (Marlee) of Madison. They also have four great-grandchildren.
