Mr. and Mrs. Richard Franklin Cowart Jr. of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Alexandra Kathleen of Oxford, to Trent Meek Yates of Nashville. Mr. Yates is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hilliard Yates Jr. of Eupora.

Miss Cowart is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Franklin Cowart and Mrs. Anthony Samuel Franco and the late Mr. Franco, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Yates is the grandson of Mrs. William Hilliard Yates and the late Mr. Yates and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Buchanan Meek, all of Eupora.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of St. Aloysius High School. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with concentrations in finance, accounting and real estate from the University of Mississippi. She was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Chi Omega sorority.

Miss Cowart is a student at the University of Mississippi School of Law.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Eupora High School. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in marketing from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Sigma Chi fraternity.

He received a juris doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

Mr. Yates is an associate attorney with Feeney & Murray P.C.

The wedding will be at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 6, 2011, at St. Paul Catholic Church. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.
