Parker, Kane wed at Travelers Rest Church

George C. Parker and Bobbie J. Kane were married at 2 p.m. April 17, 2011, at Travelers Rest Church. The Rev. Thomas Bernard officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of the late Norman and Dora Brown. She is the granddaughter of the late Fannie Bridges.

The groom is the son of the late George Tucker and the late Lillian Parker.

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Wesley Brown. Her chosen colors were ivory and lavender.

Music for the ceremony was provided by DJ Richard “Dr. C” Clark.

Serving as best man/woman were Shermon L. Stampley Jr. of Vicksburg and Yolanda Johnson of Brandon.

A reception was held May 14 at the Elks Lodge, 916 Walnut St.

The couple will make their home in Vicksburg, where the groom is employed at River Region Medical Center.
