Lois Irene Johnson Weathersby

BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Lois Irene Johnson Weathersby, 89, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
She was born Dec. 11, 1921, to Charles and Inga Ellestad Johnson in Rhinelander, Wis. She married William R. Weathersby on June 28, 1947, and they spent most of their lives in Wisconsin and Mississippi before moving to Colorado to be closer to one of their daughters.
A beloved wife and mother, during her adult life Lois was an active church member serving in multiple capacities. She was very interested in choral music and sang in choirs wherever she lived. She also became a self-taught genealogical researcher and produced extensive histories for both her own and her husband’s families. Professionally, Lois worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for a number of businesses throughout her life including the Mississippi Research and Development Center in the 1970s and Utica High School in the 1980s.
Lois is survived by her husband of 64 years, William R. Weathersby of Broomfield; two daughters, Carol Larsen of Baton Rouge, La., and Jean (Gary) Wysocki of Westminster, Colo.; five grandchildren, Landon (Elizabeth) Larsen of Houma, La., Angela Wysocki of Sacramento, Calif., Laura Larsen of Dallas, Benjamin (Michele) Wysocki of Denver, and Sophia Wysocki of Westminster. She is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Odessa Johnson of Moscow, Idaho.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Inga Ellestad Johnson of Rhinelander; as well as her brother and sister-in-law, Gilman and Ruby Johnson of Richland Center, Wis.
Visitation was Sunday May 22, 2011, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W. 10th Avenue, Broomfield, Colo. A funeral service was Monday, May 23, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Arvada United Methodist Church, 6750 Carr St., Arvada, Colo. Visitation also was Friday, May 27, 2011, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, 201 Hinds Blvd., Raymond, Miss. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Clinton Cemetery, Clinton, Miss.
