WEST MONROE, La. — Louis “Dunnie” Preis died Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at his home in West Monroe. He was 75.

Born in Waterproof, La., Mr. Preis had been a West Monroe resident for a year. He attended Auburn University, where he played football and was a sprinter for the track and field team.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Edna Joyce Prichard Preis; and his wife, Marian Powell Preis.

He is survived by his children, Bill Pries of Helena, Mont., Cathye Preis Davis of Choudrant, La., Wes Preis of Rayville, La., and Scott Preis of Cumming, Ga.; a sister, Joyce McKnelly of Overland Park, Kan.; and grandchildren and nieces.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Varnado officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday, La. Visitation will be from 1 until 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
