RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. — Walter J. Beall, 87 of Russellville, Ala., died Thursday, June 9, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2011, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Monday until the service time. Burial will be at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in Hazlehurst.
Born in Copiah County, he came to Vicksburg in 1942 and went to work at LeTourneau. He went into service and served overseas for 29 months. After his return, he went back to his job and worked for 45 years. When he retired, he was the vice president and manufacturing manager.
Mr. Beall was an active member at Calvary Baptist and Immanuel Baptist churches during his life. He served as deacon at each church, and his joy was to serve as lay song leader and singing in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evert H. and Frances Myers Beall; two sisters, Lurline Beall McGee and Katherine Middleton; two brothers, Benton and Ernest Beall; and his wife, Loriece M. Beall.
Survivors include sons, Laurance V. Beall (Shirley), Joe Beall (Marian), W. Harold (Rene) and W. Howard (Sarah); daughter, Frances Rhoads (Glen); eight grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and nine great-granddaughters.
Pallbearers will be Larry Beall, Randy Rhoads, David Beall, Matthew Beall, Bradley Beall, Jeremy Beall, Robert Beall and Brian Beall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Triplett, Franklin Hicks, Harold Williamson, John Richards, Kenny Clifton and deacons of Immanuel Baptist Church.
