County woman charged with fraud over prescription

A Warren County woman was released from the Warren County Jail Thursday after being arrested earlier in the day on a prescription fraud charge.
Marsha Reid, 55, 2907 Grange Hall Road, was arrested by Vicksburg police at 4:15 p.m. at People’s Drug Store, 1521 Washington St., and charged with fraudulent acquisition of a schedule 4 narcotic, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
Reid was accused of trying to obtain Hydrocodone, a narcotic only available through a prescription, using another person’s prescription, Stewart said.
She was released on a $1,500 bond.
City teens held in separate burglaries
Two Vicksburg teens were in the Warren County Jail this morning charged in separate burglaries.
Jeremy Bailey, 17, 1507 Lummie St., was arrested by Vicksburg police at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at a friend’s home on Grove Street and charged with auto burglary and theft of a firearm, Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department said.
Thirty minutes earlier, Alerick Powell, 17, 144 Elizabeth Circle, had been arrested at at his home and charged with residential burglary, Stewart said.
Bailey is accused of taking a Glock 40-caliber handgun valued at $600 from a 1994 Honda in the 2600 block of Clay Street, Stewart said. The gun, which had been reported missing Tuesday, was recovered during the arrest, Stewart said.
Powell, who had been free on a $10,000 bond from a May 26 burglary arrest, was accused of taking a Sony PlayStation game console and a flat-screen TV from a home in the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle, Stewart said. The items, which were reported missing May 16, have not been recovered.
Bailey was being held on a $20,000 bond; Powell, $10,000.
County woman held for drug court
A Warren County woman was in the Warren County Jail this morning charged with a drug court violation.
Barbara Muirhead, 35, 217 Lampkin Mountain Road, was arrested by Warren County deputies at noon Thursday and held without bond.
