Missing Arkansas man’s pickup found in city

A pickup registered to an Arkansas man reported missing Thursday was found at Halls Ferry Park on Friday, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Stewart said the investigation was still under way and police did not suspect foul play.

The white 2009 Dodge pickup was registered to Robert Armstrong, 52, of Searcy, Ark. He was reported missing by his family when he did not return home from work in Batesville, Miss., Stewart said.

City of Vicksburg workers first spotted the truck in the parking lot of the Halls Ferry Park baseball fields around 9 a.m. When workers returned at 1 p.m. and saw the truck had not been moved, they called police to file a suspicious vehicle report.

Stewart said anyone with information, should call the police department 601-636-2511.
