Waverley Conway “Lee” Artz III and Megan Suzanne Wassner were married outdoors at 6 p.m. April 16, 2011, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Muscle Shoals, Ala. Todd Greenlee officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Suzanne Wassner and the granddaughter of Grady Miller, all of Muscle Shoals, and the late Juanita Miller and the late Donald and Wanda Wassner.

The groom is the son of Waverley Jr. and Maryann Artz and the grandson of Nancy Dolan and the late Paul Dolan, Becky Artz and the late Waverley Artz Sr., all of Vicksburg.

Maid of honor was Missy Wassner, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jenna Artz, sister of the groom, of Orange Beach, Ala.; Amy Waycaster of Muscle Shoals; and Tara Smith of Birmingham.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Luke Wassner, brother of the bride, of Muscle Shoals; Tommy Lofton of Mandeville, La.; and Mark Lord of Forest Hills, N.Y.

The bride’s cousins, Anna Kate and Emma Snipes, attended the guestbook.

During the pronunciation of the couple, groomsmen surprised guests by ringing MSU cowbells.

A reception followed. The bride’s table featured tiers of various cupcakes. The groom’s table held Mississippi State memorabilia, the couple’s alma mater.

Guests were entertained by Courtney Snipes, cousin of the bride, and husband Andy, who accompanied on guitar. DJ Thomas Martin provided music.

A photo booth was available for snapshots.

Departing amid sparklers, the couple traveled by limousine to Huntsville for a trip to Nassau, Bahamas. They will make their home in Starkville, where the groom is network administrator for Garan Inc.

A miscellaneous shower/tea was given by the Ladies Sunday school class of Highland Park Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals.

An around-the-house shower was held at the Jim and Sandra Pride home in Florence, Ala. Hosts were Tommy and Andrea Graham and Thomas and Beverly Martin.

The couple was honored with a lunch/shower at Garan Inc. Hostesses were Rose-Lynn Jackson and Melissa Fulgham.

Bridesmaids and friends hosted a bachelorette weekend in Memphis.

Groomsmen and friends hosted a weekend in Tunica and attended a Bellator Fighting Championship.

A bridesmaids’ brunch was hosted by Courtney Snipes and Becky Saint, aunt of the bride. Special guest was Becky Artz.

The groom’s aunt, Jancsi Artz, honored him and the groomsmen with a brunch at The Marriott Shoals in Muscle Shoals.

The groom’s parents hosted a Tuscan rehearsal dinner at Ricatoni’s in Florence.
