Luther Riley wants to bring excitement back to the Alcorn State men’s basketball program.
One of the first steps is to bring young players to the campus and that’s what Riley has planned when he opens the first Luther Riley Basketball Camp Sunday at the Lorman campus.
Cost of the four-day camp will be $135 for commuter campers and $200 for those who will stay overnight in the Alcorn State dorms.
The camp will run through June 30 and Riley hopes the draw of two current NBA players, who are scheduled to appear, will be a big draw.
“It’s going to be like no other camp out there,” Riley said. “We’ve got Mo Williams from the Cleveland Cavaliers and DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings coming in.”
Riley said he has three main goals for his summer basketball camp.
“The key thing is this is our chance for all the kids to get excited about Alcorn State University and our basketball program,” Riley said.
