Lawrence B. Storey Jr. died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at Promise Hospital in Vicksburg. He was 73.

Mr. Storey was born and reared in Vicksburg and served in the Air Force for 20 years, returning to Vicksburg in 1976. He was then employed as a welder and sheet-metal worker for Bechtel Construction Co. and was later a model builder at the Waterways Experiment Station. He attended Northside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence B. Sr. and Mattie Byrd Storey.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Ford of Arlington, Texas; a son, Lawrence B. Storey III of Vicksburg; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be John Lindigrin, David Willoughby, Byron Storey, Johnathan Storey, David Gaines and James Arthur Gaines.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Gaines, Michael Curtis, Gene Curtis and David Lindigrin.
