PORT GIBSON — Sarah Watson Truitt died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Patient’s Choice Hospital in Port Gibson. She was 58.
Mrs. Truitt was a member and usher at Spring Hill M.B. Church. She was employed for many years with the Department of Human Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Watson and R. Dean Daniel; two brothers, Charlie Watson and Rufus D. Watson; and a sister, Georgia Mae Hayes.
Survivors include her husband, Melvin Truitt of Port Gibson; a son, Melvin Watson of Port Gibson; six daughters, Machelle Watson, Tonya Watson-Williams, Brenda Watson and Gloria Watson-Williams, all of Port Gibson, Patricia Watson of Vicksburg and Sharon Nicholson of Mesquite, Texas; four brothers, Lawrence Watson, Jimmy Watson and Johnny Watson, all of Port Gibson, and Louis Watson of Tennessee; a sister, Beatrice Farmer of Port Gibson; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Ora Lee Buck of Port Gibson.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Spring Hill M.B. Church with the Rev. Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
