UTICA — Ina Ethel Womack Downing, 82, a lifetime resident of Utica, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 4, 2011, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Mrs. Downing was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest Downing of Raymond; and parents, Frank H. Womack and Ada White Womack of Utica.

Visitation is from 9 until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cayuga Methodist Church in Cayuga. Services begin at 10 with interment immediately following the services at the Cayuga Cemetery.

Mrs. Downing was born on Sept. 6, 1928, the youngest of 10 children, and is survived by two sisters, Lucy Lee Ford of Clinton and Laura Jenkins of Terry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Downing retired as an elementary school teacher from Rebul Academy where she also taught private piano lessons and, for a year, played piano at the Cayuga Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Billy Womack, Robert Womack, Douglas Womack, Sonny Womack, Mike Womack and Alex Womack.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cayuga Cemetery.
