Griffin, Erves marry at New Mount Elem

Antonio Alonzo Griffin and Bessie Marie Erves were married at 4 p.m. June 4, 2011, at New Mount Elem Church. Dr. Leonard Walker officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Geraldine Watson and the late Charlie Lee Watson of Port Gibson. She is the granddaughter of the late Bessie and Robert Payne, R. Dean Daniel and Joseph Watson of Port Gibson.
The groom is the son of Yvonne Griffin of Tallulah. He is the grandson of the late A.C. Griffin and Debra Griffin.
The bride was given in marriage by Justin Longmire. Her chosen colors were clover, silver and ivory.
Music was presented by DeWayne Griffin, organist; and Patricia Watson, Glentrice Johnson and Arica Thomas, soloists.
Maid of honor was Kameshia Brown of Vicksburg. Matron of honor was Monica Davis of Vicksburg. Bridesmaids were Brittany Watson and Janice Brown, both of Vicksburg; Geraldine Dorsey of Port Gibson; and Lurine Huff and Jessica Colenburg, both of Fayette.
William Griffin of Lancaster, Texas, served as best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Watson of Port Gibson and Dexter Skinner, Shecoby Robinson, Mark Chiles Jr. and Kamarion Johnson, all of Vicksburg.
Ushers were Charlie Lee Watson and DeShawn Porter, both of Port Gibson, and James Watson of Lake Charles, La.
Flower girl was Keithia Chiles of Vicksburg. Ring bearer was Ra’Darrien Gusta of Port Gibson.
Mistress of ceremonies was Sarah Walker.
A reception followed at Unique Banquet Hall. Hostess was TaKita Watson.
For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. They will make their home in Vicksburg, where both are employed with Foam Packaging Inc.

Monica Davis and Charlean Watson honored the bride with a shower at Shoney’s.
