YAZOO CITY — Wilma Vertrese Young died Monday, July 11, 2011, at King’s Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City. She was 72.

Ms. Young was born in Vicksburg to Jack H. and Rozelle Hearn Young. She retired as cash manager from Mississippi Chemical Corporation. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a niece, Beth Ann Anderson of Yazoo City; an aunt, Vera Conn of Vicksburg; an uncle, Jeff Hearn of Anchorage, Alaska; and cousins.

Services and burial, directed by Stricklin-King Funeral Home, were July 13, 2011, at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Yazoo City or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
