NBA star and Mississippi native Al Jefferson of the Utah Jazz, center, loads boxes from the Feed the Children Charity into cars with Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield, left, and democratic gubernatorial hopeful Bill Luckett in the parking lot of the Vicksburg Mall on Friday, July 29, 2011. Enrollees in the Feed the Children Charity were given a 25-pound box of non-perishable food items, a 10-pound box of household items and a box of Avon products. Families receiving the goods, many of whom were affected by the recent flood, were pre-identified by Mountain of Faith Ministries and United Way of West Central Mississippi. About 400 families received boxes from the program, which are designed to serve a family of four for up to a week. (Bryant Hawkins/The Vicksburg Post)
