City man, juvenile held in house burglary

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail and a 16-year-old boy was in the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center this morning after their arrests for a residential burglary reported Monday, Vicksburg police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.

Jamarko Curry, 22, 1907 South St., was arrested Monday at 5:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Shady Lane after a burglary in the 1000 block of Dogwood Drive was reported a few hours earlier. A 42-inch Phillips flat-screen TV valued at $800, a 36-inch LG flat-screen TV valued at $400, two purses valued at $600 and a safe containing a 48-caliber revolver of an unknown value were reported missing from the home, Williams said. The two televisions and the safe were found in a wooded area near Dogwood Drive.

Curry was charged with two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of causing a youth to commit a crime, Williams said.

Curry was being held without bond this morning.
