LOS ANGELES — Margarete Turner Bass died Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Baldwin Park, Calif. She was 88.

Ms. Bass was a member of the Roman Catholic Church Archdiocese of Los Angeles. She was a retired register nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Turner and Hattie Turner; her husband, Joseph Bass; and three daughters, Gloria Dorsey, Cheryl Perkins and Margaret Bass.

Survivors include five sons, Richard Bass of Kosciusko, Miss., Joseph Bass of Tucson, Ariz., Samuel Bass of Detroit, Larry Bass of Columbus, Ind., and William Bass of Indianapolis; three daughters, Irene Hands of Riverside, Calif., Lois Bass of Los Angeles and Betty Bass of San Diego; a brother, John Turner of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 10:15 a.m. Monday at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, Calif.
